Town and Country Veterinary Clinic offers a state-of-the-art surgical suite equipped with innovative tools to care for your pet in Lafayette, Louisiana, and the surrounding areas. Dr. Van Duzee recommends running blood work before any surgery. Blood work can determine if the liver and kidneys of your pet are functioning properly so anesthesia can be administered to your pet as safely as possible. During the pre-operative procedure, it is required that pain medication is given to keep your pet as comfortable as possible during surgery. Before, during, and after the procedure, your pet’s vital signs including heart rate, blood pressure, and blood oxygen levels are monitored continuously by our caring veterinarian. After the treatment, your pet will be kept warm and will continue to be monitored as they recover from the anesthesia.
Dr. Pete performs a great variety of surgical procedures, including most soft tissue surgeries including spays & neuters, mass removals, foreign body removals, and cystotomy. Town and Country Veterinary Clinic also has an orthopedic surgeon who comes into the clinic to perform procedures including knee, and disc herniation (intervertebral disc disease) surgeries and so forth. Your pet will be in compassionate and skilled hands, and we will treat your pet just as we would our own.
